Summary
Hitch panics once she realizes that she overslept on her first day at the Military Police Brigade. She scolds Annie for not waking her up, only to find out that she is also still asleep. When she checks up on Annie, she gets scared at her sleeping face before getting caught staring.
Now awake, Annie and Hitch worry about not being able to make it in time for work. Annie suggests that they make up an excuse. She decides to lie about helping a troubled person on the way, and Hitch agrees, thinking that her excuse involved the two of them helping an old woman on the street. However, Annie tells her to pretend to have a hangover for the plan to work.
Hitch struggles with her boots
Annie is done getting ready, but Hitch struggles with putting her boots on. Annie thinks that she must be putting on weight since she has not been exercising as much as she used to when she was a cadet. Hitch is offended and asks her about her weight. Annie says that she has been maintaining her figure and shows Hitch that her boots have become loose. She offers to let Hitch wear her boots, but Hitch thinks that the boots she wore belong to her in the first place.
Jean yells at Connie for not waking him up, but Connie tells him that he did. He tells Jean to check his bed, where Jean finds a note from Connie telling him to wake up.
Eren is scared of Levi after oversleeping. He overhears Levi confronting Hange for their tardiness since they were defecating, which gives Eren the idea to make the same excuse. When he enters the room, he tells Levi that he was using the restroom. Levi punches him for the unnecessary announcement.
Hitch and Annie meet Borris
Boris sees Annie and Hitch outside of the meeting room and asks if they are also late. He explains that he was helping someone out, but Hitch urges him to think of another excuse since she and Annie already planned to use his. Boris decides to lie about getting a stomachache instead, while Dennis lies about a colleague dying.
Moments before the others arrived, Marlowe complained about his colleagues arriving late. Suddenly, he wondered if they had a meeting elsewhere and decided to check.
When Annie, Hitch, Boris, and Dennis enter the meeting room and do not find Marlowe, they decide to mark him as late instead.
