- No Regrets manga
Nicholas Lovof (ニコラス・ロヴォフ Nikorasu Rovofu?) is an anti-scouting mission faction leader and close associate of the Lang Company.
Lovof is depicted as a middle aged man, with a weighty look, and a furrowed brow. He has a relatively pompous face, with a dark receded hairline in a slickback hairstyle. He also has a dark moustache, and sunken eyes with a stern look. Lovof's clothes are not overly lavish, wearing a grey blazer with a red tie, over a white shirt.
Lovof is a selfish and greedy noble, who is prepared to go to brutal lengths to get what he wants. Lovof has proven to be manipulative, blackmailing Levi and his friends with Yan in order to make them do his bidding. He is cautious to an extent, laying in place contingency plans and forcing Levi into a situation where the target would make contact whether or not the mission was accepted. He also leaves no loose ends, prepared to murder Erwin Smith in order to stop details of his crimes from being released.
His opposition to the Scout Regiment and in particular the deployment of the Long-Distance Enemy Scouting Formation, shows his disregard for the future of humanity, particularly as his reason to oppose Erwin was for financial gain.
Nicholas Lovof is first seen after an employee brings Levi, Furlan Church and Isabel Magnolia to him. He introduces himself, and, having brought Yan to the surface as leverage offers the three an ultimatum to carry out a task for him. He promises the three surface citizenship and a lump sum of money if they are successful. Lovof informs them that the target will make contact regardless, and with this, the deal is struck.
Erwin and Keith Sadies discuss Lovof's opposition to the deployment of the Long-Distance Enemy Scouting Formation, and talk of Lovof planning to siphon funds to the Military Police in aid of the Lang Company.
Levi recalls the two objectives of Lovof's deal: to retrieve incriminating documents, and to murder Erwin. Levi later rides off in search of Erwin Smith to complete these objectives. Upon finding Erwin Smith, following the deaths of his friends, Erwin reveals that the documents incriminating Lovof have already been delivered to Dhalis Zachary. Lovof would later be punished for his actions.
