Rashad (ラシャド Rashado?) is a former team leader (班長 Hanchō?, lit. "Leader of a team") in the Survey Corps fourth squad under the command of Hange Zoë. His current Military standing is unknown, as he is no longer a member of the Survey Corps.
Rashad sports a short, light-colored haircut; with it trimmed close to the scalp in the back. He wears the standard Survey Corps uniform.
While Rashad is shown to be a brave and conditioned soldier, he also showed himself to be a rather considerate man, watching over Ymir's damaged body with Nifa. He is also shown to prioritize his fellow soldiers' well-being over immediate threats to himself, retrieving water to soothe burned soldiers while engaged with the Colossus Titan.
Rashad is among the soldiers that participate in the battle with Annie Leonhart in Stohess District. Afterwards, he is seen atop Wall Sheena while Hange attempts to interrogate Nick about the Titans hidden within the Walls.
In Ehrmich District, Hange goes over a report about Annie Leonhart's background with a number of soldiers, including Rashad. He hears Armin, Eren, and other members of the 104th discuss whether it is possible that Reiner Braun and Bertolt Hoover could have been working with Annie.
When the Survey Corps regroups atop Wall Rose, Rashad and Nifa examine Ymir's comatose body before reporting her status to Squad Leader Hange Zoë. Soon afterwards, once Bertolt Hoover and Reiner Braun betray the Survey Corps in an attempt to kidnap Eren Yeager and Ymir, Hange attempts to lead a group of soldiers to slice the Colossus Titan's nape before it can attack, but they are blasted back by steam it begins emitting. One of the soldiers is burned by the steam, and Rashad asks for water to soothe it.
Hange leaves Rashad in command of Teams three and four, and orders them to stay on standby behind Bertolt's Colossus Titan form while Hange helps Eren attack, Reiner. The ensuing battle leaves Rashad seriously injured and unable to participate in the mission to rescue Eren and Ymir.
- Rashad is an Arabic name meaning "righteous" or "blameless".
