Marcel was never in the possession of the dancing titan. The dancing titan ate him, Marcel had the titan named Jaws.
Ymir didnt obtain jaws for some reason, she just obtained the ability to shift into the titan she previously was.
- That's not necessarily true. http://attackontitan.wikia.com/wiki/Power_of_the_Titans#List_of_Lines_and_Titans lists her as having the Jaws Titan power as one of the nine titans, which would make sense given the emphasis placed on her teeth in the design of her titan form, and also keeps her from being an exception to the you-are-what-you-eat rule in place with titans. For this reason, on her own wiki page (Ymir), in the infobox, there is an illustration of her Jaw Titan and Pure Titan form -- i.e.: she was a Mindless titan until she ate titan-shifter Marcel, thereby gaining his powers as the Jaw Titan. If you want more proof, see this clip of the moment she eats Marcel, and note how her teeth have yet to gain the points visible in her Jaw Titan form; this would imply that she really did become the Jaw Titan, and would warrant this article's deletion. https://youtu.be/a1_SjDa3ds8?t=20 Crossark (talk) 22:17, June 17, 2017 (UTC)
- EDIT: This method of "1)become mindless titan 2) eat titan shifter to their gain power" is also how Frieda Reiss became a titan shifter -- she injects herself with the Titan serum, which is exactly how Ymir became the titan you insist isn't the Jaws Titan. But how would Ymir not be the Jaws Titan if Frieda became the Founder Titan after undergoing the same exact process? The best answer, supported by the manga, is that Ymir held the ability to transform into the Jaws Titan up until her death, whereupon Marcel's brother devoured her for the power; there is no canonical "dancing titan", nor is Ymir (or, for that matter, Eren) some freak result of the way in which titan powers are passed along.
