As you may have noticed, Wikia just launched a new redesign of its navigation bar; although unfortunately it doesn't look good with the design of this wiki, and it no longer hides when scrolling down as it used to:
So I modified it, changing the theme for a semitransparent black and white, and restoring the autohide function:
However, Wikia's ToS forbid me from applying the change wiki-wide, so this theme is to be applied individually by anyone who wants it. If you're interested in having it, this is what you need to do:
INSTRUCTIONS
- Go to your personal CSS, paste this, and save it:
@import url("/MediaWiki:NewNav.css?ctype=text/css&action=raw");
- Now go to your custom JS, paste this, and save:
importArticles({ type: 'script', articles: [ 'u:dev:MediaWiki:AutoHideNav.js', ] });
And that's all. The change may not be effective immediately due to the cache, but refresh your browser's cache and/or that of the page (hover the arrow next to the "Edit" button of an article and choose "Refresh") and it will appear. You may need to try several times as Wikia's cache is very persistent, or just wait and it will eventually appear on its own.
If you see the new bar but it doesn't autohide
Go to your preferences > "Under the Hood" > "Advanced display options", check "Enable personal JavaScript", and save the changes.
